goodbye | hello

It is time to say goodbye to my first blog. The new home for my latest work is HERE!

Check it out!

Reagan {life}

Reagan was my first mini-session last Friday. As ususal she was so much fun to photograph! When her mom pulled out the guitar I asked “are you gonna grow up and play guitar like your daddy?” to which she replied “uhhh, yeah….I already know how to play jingle bells.” Or in other words, “DUH.”   Thanks for participating guys!  enjoy :)

Piper Elliot Anderson {life}

My amazing friends Heather and Chris had a boy  and he is officially my favorite baby in the world. I took a few shots of him the other day and wanted to share them. This is a pretty short post, but more photos are in the works :)  Meet baby Piper!

April playlist | Live Shows

Here is my April playlist!

I have seen two amazing bands in the past 2 weeks. Copeland is one of my all time favorite bands and pretty much the soundtrack to my college years. This was the first time I was able to see them live and it was also the last time I would ever be able to see them. The Farewell Tour. VERY bittersweet. But i stood with my girls and we belted out every word. You could not have scraped the smile off my face. Then Saturday was Mutemath, who came to UNA. I had seen them once before at UAH in 2006 and I remember never having seen a better live show. After Saturday I still say that they have THE best live show of any band I have ever seen.

Here are some iPhone pics I snapped (pardon the quality)

dave barnes opened for mutemath.

What music do you listen to? What moves you? I love finding new artists, so throw some my way! Have a happy Tuesday!

Crissy & Brandon {promise}

When Crissy called about booking me for her wedding I have to admit I panicked before I got excited. Not panic like I’m being chased by an axe murderer and fear for my life, but panic like I know who her best friend is and I DO NOT want to disappoint. Crissy and Tera were roommates before Tera got married and, of course, she is in the wedding….kind of hard to take pictures and hold a bouquet, ya know? She asked Tera to do the engagement session, but Tera let me tag along so I could get to know them better and I am SO glad I went. These two had me laughing the entire time! Poor Crissy ‘s knee encountered a thorn bush and it looked pretty bad, but of course she was all “Im good guys! Just photoshop the blood out!” Anyway, here are a few of the shots I got!

Enjoy :)

Katie & Chris {promise}

I think the word that has been used most frequently to describe Chris and Katie’s engagement is: FINALLY.  Anyone who knows them has been waiting on this and I love that so many people are excited for them.  They are wonderful together!  I cant wait for the wedding in August! :) enjoy!

Revelationz Studio/ Cherry Tree Lane | Behind the Scenes

Tera from Armosa asked me if I wanted to assist at a commercial shoot she had lined up. Of course I said HECK YES!! So I thought I would post some of the shots I got when I wasn’t holding the reflector :) Also, some behind the scenes shots so you can see Wes and Tera in action! Hair and Makeup was done by Revelationz Studio and the dresses are from Cherry Tree Lane. Enjoy!

Race for the Cure | Boston, MA

I am holding mini sessions in April and all session fees are being donated to Race for the Cure to help with breast cancer research.

Seriously, I love this cause and I love what Anna and her AMAZING mom Wendy are doing!!!! I am so blessed to be able to travel with them this summer  and document this event!

{March} playlist.

So, this blog is kind of personal…not in a bad way- just not much photo talk. So, proceed with caution. :)

if you know me at all…you know that my world would literally crash and burn without music. I was kind of born into it.  My grandmother sang opera, my dad is a retired band director, my mom is a flutist…flautist? (She plays flute…I am not good with fancy names..) I am a full fledge music geek. I sang in choir in college and played french horn in my high school band. I have choral pieces on my ipod, and I watch drum corps on youtube. Yep…its true.

Music just has this ability to reach a place in my heart that I don’t understand. And I usually sound silly trying to explain it. So I wont try…

Why am I talking so much about music on my photo blog you ask?  Easy. When I shoot on my own I am listening to my music. On the way to shoots, I listen to “pump-up” music. When I edit I have a soundtrack. So I thought I might share a playlist each month of the songs I am stuck on. Basically, I just want to let you in on the songs that inspire me, pump me up, and make me want to dance a happy dance . The soundtrack to my life.  Maybe some of these songs will speak to you too!  enjoy!

Happy Wednesday!
